Valcourt, Québec, June 1, 2016 – BRP (TSX:DOO) introduced today its most complete lineup of Can-Am Off-Road vehicles to date. The 2017 Can-Am ATV and side-by-side lineup features new models with more specialized packages and enhanced performance, along with multiple new entry-level options, further solidifying Can-Am leadership in the industry.

3 new side-by-side models for 2017

First, Can-Am developed in close collaboration with expert hunters, is an all-new Can-Am Defender Mossy Oak Hunting Edition that features a purpose-built, industry-exclusive, hunting- ready package with exclusive Mossy Oak Break-Up Country camo. This new package, along with the 2017 Defender MAX family unveiled in March, gives Can-Am a better footprint in the hunting segment of the industry.

Additionally, Can-Am further cements itself as an industry leader in the side-by-side mud segment with an all-new, four-person Can-Am Maverick MAX X mr 1000R side-by-side vehicle built to outperform in even the most demanding settings. Also new as a new point-of-entry into the Maverick lineup in the 60-inch family is the Maverick xc 1000R side-by-side vehicle, which is a DPS-less option offered at a lower price.

Can-Am Side-By-Side Vehicles

The engineering, design and marketing product teams were tasked with raising the game for Can-Am Off-Road. In effort to improve upon the Can-Am side-by-side’s already impressive family and industry influence, the team chose to offer new packages, bring improvements to the entire lineup and also introduce new attractive color schemes.

Building on the successful launch of the Can-Am Defender utility-recreational side-by- side family and the most recent March launch of the six-passenger Defender MAX vehicle, the all-new Can-Am Defender Mossy Oak Hunting Edition package is now the gold standard for avid outdoorsmen. The fully functional, field-ready and Mossy Oak Pro-Staff-approved hunting side-by-side vehicle complete with integrated protection elements and rider-focused amenities.

A new woods-and-trail specific Maverick xc package joins the Maverick family of sport- rec side-by-side vehicles for 2017. Dressed in yellow, the 60-inch wide Maverick vehicle is agile, compliant with most trails system and is outfitted with many of the side-by-side family performance traits, but comes in at an attractive price point at only $15,699 USD (US only).

Further magnifying the brand’s industry leadership in the mud-riding category, Can-Am introduces the impressive, four-seat Maverick MAX X mr 1000R to its side-by-side line of off-road vehicles. Complete with the same factory-installed, mud-specific attributes as the two-seat Maverick X mr vehicle, the MAX X mr side-by-side has four seats, a 29.5- inch longer wheelbase, new 14-inch aluminum wheels and a QRS (Quick Response System) CVT for better performance in mud conditions.

Lineup Improvements

FOX QS3 Shocks

New for 2017, is the arrival of the FOX Podium QS3 piggyback shocks that allow for simpler compression adjustments. The shocks feature a tool-free adjuster and numerous fine-tuning ranges for exceptional ride quality. The new FOX Podium 2.0 QS3 shocks are featured on the Commander XT-P, Commander MAX Limited, Maverick DPS / Maverick MAX DPS, while the FOX Podium 2.5 QS3 shocks are standard on the Maverick X mr / Maverick MAX X mr, Maverick Turbo / Maverick MAX Turbo and Maverick MAX X ds Turbo vehicles. On the sportier packages, an additional Bottom-Out Control allows for less compression damping at ride-height to improve comfort and traction while giving huge damping at the end of the stroke to reduce harsh impacts.

QRS CVT

The Maverick Turbo now shares its successful Quick Response System (QRS) Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with the Maverick X mr and Maverick MAX X mr side-by-side vehicles. The QRS system allows for even better power transfer and faster engagement time while also reducing friction for longer belt life. The CVT ventilation has strategic inlets and outlets and a specific impeller design to created more cold-air flow moving through the pulleys.

Front Sway Bar

All Commander and Maverick side-by-side vehicles now wear a front sway bar that improves cornering stability. The system is designed to lessen the amount of weight transfer in aggressive cornering, leading to flatter and predictable handling.

Maxxis Tires

New Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires are now standard on the base Can-Am Commander side- by-side vehicle. The versatile, 6-ply-rated tire features a radial construction that leads to a smoother ride in rough, diverse terrain.

New Wheels

The Maverick X mr and Maverick MAX X mr will now wear an all-new 14-inch eight- spoke wheel with a unique machined, aluminum-and-painted black finish.
