You should always wear good supportive boots that go above your ankles when you’re driving a UTV. It is part of being a responsible and safe driver. You want something that looks good too, especially when you’re not in the machine. We’ve been wearing boots from Italian boot designer Falco for a long time and love them. That’s why when Falco asked if we would like to try out the Ranger boots, we jumped at the idea.

The Rangers have a full-grain leather upper that is oil treated. This gives the boots a classic cool look and means that they are durable for lots of use. The boots are lined with Falco’s High Tex membrane that keeps the waterproof and breathable, so your feet don’t drown in your foot sweat after a hard day on the trails. The boots were originally designed for motorcycle use, so there are reinforced patches on the toes for shifting. That works well for off-road use too, as this is an area that often gets scrapped on the trail. Plus, if you ever hop on an ATV or dirt bike, you’re all set.

The upper is stitched to the VIBRAM sole. This helps these boots be more durable than a glued-on sole. It also adds to the look. These are some sharp boots. The sole is great, too. There is plenty of tread to the sole for climbing, hiking and other off-road activities that we often find ourselves doing while driving UTVs.

Another cool feature about these boots is that they have lacing and a full side-zip entry too. This makes putting the boots on and taking them off so very easy. It also lets you really snug them on, adding some additional safety and security. One thing I hate about some boots is how my foot slides around from a sloppy fit. It’s not such a big deal when driving, but it really gets irritating for me when I get out to explore. That’s not an issue with the Falco Rangers. These boots are amazing for driving UTVs into the beautiful wild places we like to go.

Adding support are the D30 Ankle Cups that add a shock-absorbing layer around your ankles. For motorcycle guys, this is really important, but for us off-roaders, it’s more important than you’d think. Most UTVs have composite floorboards and in the case of an accident, those floorboards may not hold up. Plus, as someone who slipped on a rocky overlook and torqued an ankle, I appreciate anything that gives added support and protection to my feet.

These boots come in European sizing from size 41 to 47. We found them to run true to size and offered a supportive insole and a natural-feeling fit overall. The Italian craftsmen at Falco who designed the boot used foot anatomy to sculpt the boot to feel good to your feet, making them boots you can wear longer with less pain and irritation. There are women’s boots available that are designed to fit a woman’s foot as well. They come in three colors – dark brown, black and caramel-brown. We are very impressed with our Falco Ranger Boots and know you will be too.
